The 2024 San Diego French Amercian School fundraising gala

Casino Royal might be my favorite Bond movie. I was skeptical when they chose Craig to be the new Bond but I quickly changed my mind in that opening parkour scene… Now with that bit of nonsense out of the way, let’s get into it.

Welcome to the annual Fundraising Gala, the French American School puts on every year. it’s just like Casino Royale (theme of the year): high stakes and suave sophistication with the electrifying atmosphere of a noble cause—the empowerment of education. The stakes were high, the dresses were elegant, the drinks flowed, and the fun was had. From the clinking of martini glasses to the spin of the roulette wheel, every moment resonates with the allure of charm and class… all in the name of a noble cause.

I have to say, the items up for auction this year were very glamorous and exemplified the James Bond lifestyle. Wowzers. From a trip to the Red Carpet at the Cannes Film Festival to very lavish dinners pinning American wines and French wines against each other, the professional auctioneer there really played up the exclusiveness and the meaning behind all those items.

As a Frenchman raising bilingual kids in San Diego, It was an absolute blast to photograph this evening for other SDFAS even though my kids don’t go to that school. It was amazing to hear to spend time with so many French people right here in SoCal.
