(ADITL) A-day-in-the-life engagement session with Soojin & Jorge

I met Soojin and Jorge at one of the bridal expos I’ve been attending this year. We got on immediately. They instantly understood my style and what I am trying to do with documentary photography for everyday people.

It was awesome to photograph their engagement straight into their home. I have mentioned this in a Reel I made about this session but I find it really special to be there for couple such as them as they are choosing to record a slice of their life as an engagement session. It really is special. People see themselves differently and act differently (more themselves) than when doing a straight up portrait session.

I think these photos will stand the test of time, amd mean so much more to them years from now. These photos are about who they are and not about what they are projecting to be. It is life as art.

Soojin and Jorge are obviously big into vinyls… and as it happens so am I. Probably not as much as they are to be honest but I’m getting there as I learn more about the medium. I love the activity of choosing a record and playing it. I love changing the record. I love going to the record store. This is all part of the experience of music. And that’s what they like too… so we spent the morning listening to records, talking about music while taking some photos. it was great. On another day, we followed that session up with going to the record store (shout out to Folk Arts Rare Records).

I now will stop waxing poetics and let you enjoy this A-side of their life (See what I did there?).
