An LGBTQ+ wedding at Brick, Liberty Station
Everybody in black and white, a cool venue, the feel of a GQ shoot, and two awesome brides make for my kind of weddings.
I met Laura and Daw at a bridal and we hit it off right away. Shockingly in 2024, I am still one of the only photographers that will openly support the LGBTQ+ community at these expos… and it didn’t go unnoticed by these two lovely women. We understood immediately each other’s aesthetics and we were a prefect match to make some incredible photos. And that we did!
I don’t know if you’ve ever been to Brick but it is a very cool and trendy event venue in the heart of Liberty Station, San Diego… it’s very industrial-chic. The space has great exposed brick walls, high vaulted ceilings, and large windows that allow plenty of natural light to pour in. I love shooting weddings there.
And sometimes the venue helps bringing an unusual vision to life. Laura and Dawn had the idea of doing the ceremony in a circle so that everybody could see them. I thought it was sooo cool. What a great idea. and photography wise, it really helped me not being in the middle and being able to get many different angles.
Their guests were awesome and my brides were just game for anything. It truly was a special wedding to me to shoot and I honestly hope I will help many other LGBTQ+ couples celebrate their love and their union.
In the mean time, enjoy the photos.
