Family event: A birthday party in San Diego

One of the most special things to photograph for me is family events… because they are just that EVENTFUL! I love photographing families as they are and events like that are part of their most intimate moments… After all, that’s where my ADITL sessions come from.

Birthdays are fun! There are usually balloons, candy, gifts, cake, etc. Kids are running everywhere playing and parents can finally have adult conversations with other adults for a little bit… the best part of a child’s birthday party. ;)

… at least, until someone starts crying. and kids can also act up sometimes. ;)

That’s why I love going to birthday parties… unless they decided to act like monsters that day, kids will generally police themselves and they’ll be exhausted by the end of the party which means they’ll go to sleep early. WINNING!

That birthday did not disappoint with all the expectations of a good birthday: multi-generations were present as Grandmas from far away came to celebrate the special occasion. Cupcakes, pizza and good times were had… but a great birthday has a bouncy.

You heard me… and you know it’s true. when both the kids and the adults participate in the fun and get into the bouncy, you know you’ve got a cool party.
